Why Hebrews?

In the book of Hebrews, the apostle is calling us to persevere in the Christian life, to hold fast to Christ in the midst of the trials and tribulations of life. And his primary argument as to why we should do this is that Jesus is better. He is better than the angels, better than Moses, better than Joshua, better than Aaron and Levi, better than the OT sacrificial system. As you study Hebrews, you will see the person and work of Jesus on display, and, in light of that, you will be called “to throw off every weight and every sin that so easily entangles you” and “to run with perseverance the race that is set before you.”
