On November 12, the Great Commission Society returns to RTS Jackson! Dr. Medeiros, Jonatas Cunha, and the Great Commission Society are hosting a free Missional Moment Lunch (Chick-fil-a) on campus for all interested students.
To register for the lunch click on the registration page. For more information regarding the functions of the Great Commission Society, read more about its four primary platforms below. Contact Jonatas Cunha with any questions.
The Great Commission Society has four primary platforms:
- Missions Conference: Regularly we host the RTS Jackson Missions Conference here on campus, during which a pastor, professor, or missionary reminds us of the primacy of the Great Commission through a series of sermons over a two to three day period.
- Missional Moments: Each month there will be a “core” group lunch meeting during which we will spend time developing a Biblical view of missions, learning about unreached people groups, and praying for the work of missions around the world. During the November 12 lunch we will plan the missional moments for the next year.
- People Group of the Month: Each month there will be one people group that as a campus we will learn about and lift up prayers for during chapel, prayer lunches, and as other opportunities arise. For November 2019 we will be learning about and praying for the Wolof, a West African ethnic group found in northwestern Senegal.
- Evangelistic Encounters: Each week there will be an opportunity to share the gospel with people in a specific place (e.g. Universities, RTS Neighborhood, etc.). A member of the Great Commission Society will plan and lead groups of two to three students in evangelistic encounters. Starting on November 9 (2-4 pm) we will go out every Saturday of November to preach the gospel in a place in Jackson.
