I wanted to attend RTS in order to pursue a call to ministry. There was a lack of solid reformed theological education in my country, and I hoped to help strengthen theological standards. In my first semester, sitting in the Intro to Pastoral and Theological Studies, my sense of calling was confirmed. During my time at RTS, sitting in classes like Doctrine of Scripture and Systematic Theology further convinced me that RTS would prepare me for a lifetime of confessional Presbyterian ministry in my home country. Since graduating, there have been numerous times that I have been told that my sermons are robust, practical, doctrinal, and relevant. This is the model that my pastor-professors taught me and modeled for me.Since graduating, there have been numerous times that I have been told that my sermons are robust, practical, doctrinal, and relevant.
I have been actively involved in pulpit ministry, evangelism through Christianity Explored, discipleship, and teaching in other settings. RTS has also prepared me for further academic work. I am currently a Master of Theology student in Historical Theology at Edinburgh Theological Seminary/University of Glasgow, and I look forward to doctoral work in the future. I firmly believe that the solid foundation laid through a Reformed theological education at a confessional seminary like RTS is foundational to me not only as a minister of the gospel, but also as an aspiring ecclesial theologian. Incredibly grateful for my time at RTS-Jackson.
