About Us: We are a small, vibrant, and faithful body of believers located in Mount
Vernon, Kentucky, committed to the historic Reformed faith. Our church holds
steadfastly to the inspired, inerrant, and infallible Word of God as our ultimate
authority for faith and life. We are deeply rooted in the theological heritage of the
Protestant Reformation, affirming the doctrines articulated in the Savoy Declaration
of Faith and Order as an accurate summary of biblical truth. We are a family- oriented fellowship, desiring to grow in grace and knowledge, to faithfully worship
God, and to make disciples of all nations, beginning in our local community. We are
actively involved in studying God’s Word and seeking to live out our faith in practical
ways. Our constitution accepts both paedo-communion and paedo-baptism
practicing members. We are looking for a godly, humble, and gifted pastor who will
shepherd our flock according to God’s will, leading us in truth and love. Job Description: The pastor will serve as the primary spiritual leader of the church, responsible for the preaching of the Word, the administration of the sacraments, and the pastoral care of the congregation. He will be a man called by God, gifted in
teaching and leadership, and committed to upholding the distinctives of Reformed
theology as expressed in the Savoy Declaration. He should also be committed to our
distinctives regarding paedo-communion and paedo-baptism. Key Responsibilities:
Preaching and Teaching: *Faithfully preach the whole counsel of God’s Word expositionally. *Regularly teach and disciple the congregation in Reformed theology and practice. *Lead weekly Bible studies and other educational opportunities. Worship Leadership: *Lead reverent and God-honoring worship services in accordance with Reformed
principles, emphasizing the regulative principle of worship. *Administer the sacraments of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper regularly and
faithfully. Pastoral Care: *Provide compassionate pastoral care to all members, including visitation of the
sick and shut-ins, counseling, and prayer. *Equip and encourage members in their spiritual growth and service. *Be available to the congregation for guidance and support.
Leadership and Administration: *Work collaboratively with the church leadership to develop, plan, and execute
ministries that align with the church’s mission and Reformed convictions. *Oversee and participate in the various ministries of the church. *Maintain regular accessibility to the congregation. Evangelism and Outreach: *Encourage and equip the congregation for personal evangelism. *Identify and pursue opportunities for outreach within the Mount Vernon
community. Qualifications: *Doctrinal Purity: Unreservedly affirm and adhere to the Savoy Declaration of Faith
and Order without reservation. Candidates will be expected to articulate their
understanding and commitment to these confessions. *Biblical Qualifications: Meet the biblical qualifications for an elder/overseer as
outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9. Education: A Master of Divinity (M.Div.) or an equivalent from a Reformed seminary
is highly preferred but not required. Experience: Previous pastoral experience in a Reformed church context is desirable, but not strictly required for a highly qualified candidate. Character: Possess a godly character, marked by humility, integrity, prayerfulness, and a genuine love for God and His people. Preaching Ability: Demonstrated ability to preach clear, engaging, expositional
sermons that are doctrinally sound and practically applicable. Pastoral Heart: A compassionate heart for people, with a genuine desire to shepherd
and care for the flock. Work Ethic: Self-motivated, disciplined, and able to manage time effectively. Relational Skills: Able to build strong, healthy relationships within the church and the
wider community. Residency: Willingness to reside in or near Mount Vernon, Kentucky, to effectively
