About Rev. Smit
Joel Smit has served as the Senior Pastor of Smyrna Presbyterian Church (PCA) in Smyrna, GA, since 2016. Prior to that, he served for eight years as an Assistant Pastor at Midway Presbyterian Church (PCA) in Powder Springs, GA. He currently serves as Chairman of the Candidates and Credentials Committee for the Northwest Georgia Presbytery.
Joel holds a Master of Divinity from Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Ministry at Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary. He has contributed articles to Ligonier Ministries and other online theological publications. His ministry passions include expository preaching, Reformed theology, and shepherding God’s people through the means of Word, prayer, and sacrament.
