Worship Ministry

● Lead the congregation, worship teams, and choirs in consistent, Christ-centered worship that engages the congregation and reflects biblical principles.

● Fulfill the role of lead worshiper during regularly scheduled worship services and develop others within the congregation to lead worship as well. `

● Cast vision for the worship ministry by teaching and reinforcing the biblical philosophy of worship.

● Recruit, train, and organize musicians and volunteers, ensuring that the worship ministry is dynamic and effective. Collaborate with the tech team to recruit and train team volunteers.

● Develop new music and worship teams, ensuring participation from a wide range of individuals.

● Coordinate with the Senior Pastor and other staff to plan worship services well in

advance, ensuring that all elements of worship are communicated clearly and efficiently.

● Provide pastoral care to individuals involved in the worship ministry, encouraging

spiritual growth and connection to the larger church community.

● Foster a collaborative environment for worship planning by working with the tech team

on service logistics, event planning, and technical requirements.

● Manage and oversee the church’s music budget, working closely with the budget and

finance committee for fiscal accountability.

Discipleship Ministry

● Promote spiritual growth through Sunday School, Bible study groups, and D-groups,

fostering opportunities for congregational learning.

● Provide leadership and oversight for all Small Group education initiatives, including

Sunday School classes, D-groups, and Bible studies.

● Recruit, train, and evaluate leaders for Small Groups, ensuring that the curriculum is

biblically sound and spiritually enriching.

● Develop and evaluate teaching curriculum as necessary for all ministry areas, offering

input and consultation on curriculum choices for other ministry leaders.

● Oversee and/or lead in adult discipleship programming, especially for Sunday nights.

Position Qualifications:

1. Spiritual Qualifications

  • Strong Christian faith with a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

  • Spiritual maturity and a life that models biblical character (e.g., 1 Timothy 3:1–7, Titus 1:5–9).

  • Commitment to prayer, Scripture, and worship as personal practices, not just professional duties.

  • Agreement with the church’s doctrinal statement or theological beliefs.

2. Musical and Artistic Qualifications

  • Proficient in one or more instruments (often guitar or piano).

  • Strong vocal ability and experience leading congregational worship.

  • Understanding of musical arrangement, production, and worship set planning.

  • Ability to lead and rehearse teams, including instrumentalists and vocalists.

  • Familiarity with modern worship music and traditional hymns (depending on the church style).

3. Leadership and Organizational Skills

  • Experience leading worship teams and developing other musicians and leaders.

  • Ability to recruit, train, and pastor worship team members.

  • Skilled in planning services, often in coordination with the senior pastor or teaching team.

  • Tech-savvy—comfortable with sound systems, projection, lighting, and software like Planning Center, Ableton Live, etc.

4. Relational and Pastoral Skills

  • Shepherd’s heart—able to care for and disciple team members.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • A collaborative spirit, working well with other staff and volunteers.

  • Demonstrated humility, teachability, and emotional intelligence.

5. Educational and Experience Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Worship Ministry, Music, Theology, or related field (preferred, not always required).

  • Formal or informal theological training is often desired.

  • Previous ministry experience, especially in leading worship in a church setting (2–5 years is common).
