Communications and Marketing Project Manager
Job Description:
The Communications and Marketing Department at RTS is responsible for advancing the seminary’s mission by engaging students, faculty, alumni, and supporters through strategic communication, branding, and marketing initiatives. The department oversees RTS’s digital presence, print materials, media relations, and public outreach to ensure consistent and impactful messaging. The Communications and Marketing Project Manager plays a key role in overseeing marketing initiatives, managing content workflows, and ensuring the efficient execution of communication strategies. This position requires strong project management skills, excellent organizational abilities, and a proactive approach to coordinating internal and external marketing efforts. The role also includes administrative oversight, student worker supervision, and vendor coordination.
The Communications and Marketing Project Manager reports to the Chief Communications Officer and Chief Marketing Officer and serves as a central point of contact for project coordination across multiple teams.

Responsibilities and Requirements:
- Develop and maintain project management systems to track marketing initiatives and workflows.
- Ensure marketing and communications projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Coordinate approval processes, vendor relationships, and content tracking.
- Oversee the production of RTS’s newsletter and assist with content strategy.
- Assist in content development and tracking for social media, newsletters, and digital communications.
- Support ongoing branding initiatives, marketing campaigns, and promotional strategies.
- Work collaboratively with other RTS departments to enhance internal and external communications.
- Manage invoices, credit card submissions, and budget tracking for the department.
- Schedule meetings, travel, and events related to marketing and communications.
- Oversee the communications@rts.edu email account and ensure timely responses.
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and leadership to ensure cohesive messaging across RTS’s platforms.
- Stay updated on marketing trends and higher education communications best practices.
Position Qualifications:
Qualifications, Education, and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or public relations.
- 3 + years of experience in marketing, communications, public relations, or project management.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communications skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and office management software.
- Experience with social media strategy, content management, and digital marketing.
- Strong team collaboration skills.
- Ability to plan, execute, and manage projects efficiently.
Cognitive and Physical Demands
- Daily tasks involve sitting, screen time, keyboarding, and digital communication.
- Strong professional judgement is required to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects.
- Ability to meet deadlines under pressure and adapt to evolving priorities.
