Job Title:
Senior Pastor (Teaching Elder): Sylvania Presbyterian Church
Job Description:
-Preaching (Expositional) and teaching.
-Administer sacraments, weddings, funerals, counseling, etc.
-Develop order or worship (readings, prayers, hymns, etc.).
-Lead weekly worship services and special services.
-Provide organization and support for children/youth as needed.
-Pastoral care and visitation (all members and shut-ins).
-Organize and lead new member & leadership classes.
-Moderate Session & congregational meetings.
-Attend Presbytery and General Assembly activities.
Position Qualifications:
MDiv or comparable graduate degree from an accredited seminary (preferably of the Reformed tradition). Ordained or eligible for ordination by the Evangelical Presbyterian Church.
Sylvania Presbyterian Church would be willing to look at candidates in their senior year of education that could possibly complete degree requirements online or in some other manner.
Our church is located in the Covenant Presbytery of the PCA. We have several men from the PCA that are filling the pulpit for us as we seek a TE.

We are a small church in a rural community but situated in between two fast growing cities. The nearest reformed churches are 30 to 40 miles away (Little Rock, Conway, Sherwood, etc.).
Sylvania Presbyterian is the second oldest Presbyterian Church in Arkansas. First Presbyterian (oldest) was planted by the same pastor that planted Sylvania Presbyterian).
