English Ministry Pastor: New Life Mission Church of Northern California
Job Description:
New Life Mission Church of Northern California (PCA) is seeking a full-time English Ministry (EM) pastor to lead and nurture the English Ministry congregation in the Bay Area. NLMC is a multigenerational church striving to glorify God through worship, community, and global and local missions. We also provide a friendly, inclusive, and God-centered environment for a diverse congregation of families and young adults in the Bay Area.
Responsibilities
- Prepare expository, Christ-centered sermons and deliver them in an effective and relevant manner.
- Oversee elements of Sunday worship services.
- Lead regular Bible studies that meet the spiritual needs of the congregation.
- Administer sacraments, including Communion and baptism.
- Oversee ministry leaders, providing training and shepherding.
- Conduct membership classes.
- Guide and participate in the young adult ministry activities.
- Conduct regular visitations to encourage and shepherd members, particularly those in need.
- Occasionally lead short-term mission teams for global outreach efforts.
- Work closely with church leaders to keep the church doctrinally sound.
Position Qualifications:
Qualifications
- A deep personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Adherence to Reformed theology and aligned with PCA’s essential beliefs.
- Be of high integrity and humility.
- Preach well-prepared sermons that are grounded in Biblical teachings.
- Time management skills to be able to dedicate sufficient time to the study of God’s word to be able to teach and also to grow personally.
- Master of Divinity degree from an accredited seminary with previous pastoral experience.
- Member of or willingness to transfer to Presbyterian Church in America (PCA).
- Experience in counseling, visitation, and member care across diverse demographics.
- Ability to build relationships across cultural and generational lines.
