ABOUT THE CHURCH
The mission of Memorial Baptist Church is connecting people to Christ and community. We fulfill this mission in three ways: reaching up, reaching in, and reaching out.
We are affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention and Stanly-Montgomery Baptist Association. Our Sunday morning services average 350 total attendees between 2 worship services.
ABOUT THE POSITION
We are seeking a passionate Worship Pastor to lead our congregation in worship and develop a thriving music ministry. This role requires a skilled musician, a gifted leader, and a spiritually mature shepherd who can guide our worship team, band, choir, and congregation in connecting with God. He will be a team-builder, developing a disciple-making culture within the worship team. The Worship Pastor will collaborate with the Senior Pastor to create impactful worship experiences aligned with our church’s mission and vision.
ABOUT THE COMMUNITY
Our church is located in the friendly, small town of Norwood, NC of Stanly County. Nestled in the foothills of the Uwharrie Mountains, Norwood offers a welcoming community, beautiful natural surroundings, and a relaxed pace of life. Enjoy the many recreational opportunities of nearby Lake Tillery and the Uwharrie National Forest. We’re also conveniently located within driving distance of Charlotte and other larger cities. We are centrally located in the state for an easy 2.5 hour drive to the mountains or 2.5 hour drive to the coast.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
1. Support the Senior Pastor to achieve the church’s mission and vision.
2. Create and lead weekend and special event worship music as the worship leader.
3. Assist with overall shepherding of the congregation as part of the pastoral leadership team.
4. Oversee special events by scheduling, organizing necessary teams, and coordinating with guest speakers and musicians.
5. Oversee all aspects of worship ministry, including children, youth, adults, and seniors.
6. Recruit, develop, schedule, and equip ministry volunteers to serve in the worship and production teams.
7. Coordinate the purchase of music, supplies, equipment, and materials needed to equip the ministry.
8. Serve in a variety of other ministries as the Lord leads.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
1. Proficiency with using Apple products, ProPresenter, Planning Center, and a digital sound board.
2. Ensure proper function of instruments, lighting, sound systems, computers, and software, including maintenance and replacement.
3. Provide oversight of all technical aspects of audio and video for worship services and live-streaming.
4. Aligns theologically with the Baptist Faith & Message 2000.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
· Minimum- Bachelor’s degree in Worship, Music, Theology, or a related field.
· Previous experience as a Worship Pastor, Worship Leader, or similar role.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
· Salary will be between $60,000-$75,000 including benefits.
· Benefits include paid time off, paid personal days, cell phone reimbursement, health insurance, retirement.
