(JACKSON, Miss.) — The Admissions Office and Counseling Department of Reformed Theological Seminary, Jackson are pleased to announce the release of two Master of Arts in Counseling (MAC) admission review cycles for students seeking enrollment into the 2020 MAC cohort.
Dr. Jim Hurley, founding professor of the Counseling program, remarked, “Each summer, we welcome up to 24 new students to our learning community. We spend two years with them, teaching them in the classroom and training them to be counselors in our on-site clinic. Students carefully study biblical truth (God’s Word) and its relationship to things learned from studying God’s creation (psychology) as they gain knowledge and skills needed to become licensed professional counselors (LPC).”
Applicants who desire to secure a spot in the 2020 cohort are encouraged to participate in the fall review cycle due to the limited seating in this year’s cohort. The review process consists of two phases. First, applicants submit an online application, references, transcripts, and an online background check by the application deadline. Second, applications are reviewed by the MAC faculty and students are invited for an interview day.
For the fall review cycle, all applications must be submitted by October 26, 2019. November 8 will be the interview day, and admission decisions will be announced on December 15.
For the spring review cycle, applications are due on February 22, 2020, interviews will be held on March 6, and admission decisions will be announced on April 15.
