Dr. Michael Kruger, President of the Charlotte campus said, “In a world where good Old Testament professors are hard to find, it is difficult to express how thankful we have been for John Currid. His impeccable scholarship and his love for Christ and His Church have blessed generations of students. While he will be dearly missed in Charlotte, we are pleased that his new role as Chancellor’s professor will allow him to serve many more students across the different RTS campuses.”
Dr. Ligon Duncan, Chancellor of RTS commented, “John Currid has been a blessing to Reformed Theological Seminary for almost a quarter century. He is a first rate Old Testament scholar and expert in biblical archaeology, as well as a superb teacher and preacher. I was privileged to be his colleague at RTS Jackson for almost fifteen years, and to sit under his superb exposition of Scripture often. Now he has added another decade of distinguished service in his time at RTS Charlotte. He has continued to serve church and academy with integrity and excellence. I am so thankful that John will remain a part of the RTS family as he enters a new phase of service as Chancellor’s Professor of Old Testament. May his life, teaching, and writing continue to bless the seminary and the church.”
