Please welcome Dr. Scott Redd, Jr. and his family–pictured here: Scott, Jennifer, and daughers, Mary (L) and Naomi (R). Not pictured is their newborn, Charlotte. The Redds will arrive in Orlando today or tomorrow. Scott is the newest professor at RTS Orlando (Scott Swain is ever grateful), and will be taking up his new duties as associate professor of Old Testament and Dean of Students June 1.
The Redds are moving from Raleigh, NC, where Scott has served as the Director of Community Life at Christ the King (PCA) Church, a position he has held since the summer of 2007. Prior to moving to Raleigh, Scott completed his doctoral coursework in Semitic Languages and Literature at the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. During that time, he was a regular teacher and writer for the Adult Education and Youth ministries of Fourth Presbyterian Church in Bethesda, MD. Also during that time, Scott’s interest in the global Christian movement led him to get involved in training Arabic-speaking church leaders at the Augustine Theological Institute in Malta (under the oversight of the Arab World Evangelical Minister’s Association). Prior to moving to Washington, D.C., Scott and Jennifer lived in Orlando, FL, where he launched and supervised the Arab Language Project for Third Millennium Ministries, while earning his M.Div. degree from RTS Orlando. Scott met his wife Jennifer at the College of William & Mary during their undergraduate studies. Scott’s father, Admiral Scott Redd, Sr., is the newest member of the RTS Board of Trustees, elected to the board in April
