JACKSON, Miss. — Reformed Theological Seminary, Jackson is pleased to announce its chapel schedule for the fall 2022 semester. Chapel services are held in Grace Chapel on Wednesday mornings from 11 a.m. to 11:50 a.m. during the fall and spring semesters.
Thankful anticipation characterizes faculty and staff attitudes toward the return of the weekly worship gathering this fall. Dr. Charlie Wingard, Professor of Pastoral Theology and Dean of Students, oversees the chapel and recruits speakers each semester.
“I am grateful for this fall’s lineup of chapel speakers,” said Dr. Wingard. “We learn by example, and our chapel speakers are role models for rightly handling God’s word. I look forward to sitting under the preaching of the Word and to growing in God’s grace along with our students, staff, and faculty.”
Chapel significantly enriches the rhythm of life for each semester at the Jackson campus.
Dr. Guy Waters, James M. Baird, Jr. Professor of New Testament and Academic Dean said, “RTS prepares students to serve the people of God with the Word of God. Part of that preparation is gathering each week to sit together under the Word of God and to join our voices in prayer and praise to God. For that reason, chapel is a high point of the week for the RTS Jackson community. I am looking forward this semester to the encouragements and challenges from the Scripture that our speakers will bring us.”
Following each chapel service, students, faculty, and staff gather for a time of food, fellowship, and prayer in the Sam Patterson Student Center. Friends of RTS Jackson are encouraged to join any of the fall 2022 chapel services as well as the lunch and fellowship time to follow.
Fall chapel programming will begin on August 24 with RTS Jackson’s 57th convocation. For questions regarding chapel at the Jackson campus, email Dr. Wingard. To listen to past chapel messages, click here.
