RTS Faculty Member Completes Doctoral Degree in Counselor Education and Supervision

Katie MajesteJACKSON, Miss. – Reformed Theological Seminary is pleased to announce that Katherine “Katie” Majeste has successfully completed her Doctor of Philosophy degree in Counselor Education and Supervision from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.

Dr. Majeste’s dissertation, titled “The Use of EMDR G-TEP in the Treatment of ADHD Symptoms in Adults,” represents significant research in the field of therapeutic interventions for attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder in adult populations. Her work explores the application of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Group Traumatic Episode Protocol (EMDR G-TEP) as a treatment modality for ADHD symptoms.

“The MAC program at RTS laid a strong foundation for my doctoral work,” said Dr. Majeste. “My time at NOBTS has shaped me as a counselor and educator, and I’m excited to bring what I’ve learned back into the classroom at RTS!”

Dr. Michael Hillerman, Assistant Professor of Counseling and Director of the Master of Arts in Counseling Program at RTS, praised Dr. Majeste’s achievement. “The Master of Arts in Counseling program at Reformed Theological Seminary extends heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Katie Majeste for completing her Ph.D. at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Her scholarly accomplishment strengthens our faculty, enriching our counseling program as we prepare students to serve with wisdom and compassion in their calling. Dr. Majeste’s achievement in earning her Ph.D. is a testament to her commitment to academic excellence and faithful service.”

Dr. Majeste’s doctoral completion enhances the academic credentials and expertise within RTS’s counseling faculty, bringing research and clinical knowledge to the seminary’s Master of Arts in Counseling program.
