God is three persons in one God, not one person in one God because God is love. 1 John 4:8: “God is love.” It takes more than one person to express love. God is a being of love; therefore, from all eternity, he has had someone with whom we might share that love, and have it reflected back.

The Trinity is the basis of everything that Christianity is.

 Lover, love, and loved. Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Sharing in this life of love, light, and life: that is who God is. He has made us in that image: that we desire him and desire to know his love. The Trinity is the basis of everything that Christianity is. It is the greatest thing we have to offer the world.
