Biography

Elizabeth Pennock joined the faculty of RTS-Orlando in 2019 and serves as Assistant Professor of Counseling and as our Practicum and Internship Coordinator. She teaches a range of core classes in our Masters of Arts in Counseling program.

Ms. Pennock is completing her Ph.D. in Counselor Education at the University of Central Florida. She is a licensed mental health counselor and qualified supervisor in the State of Florida. She is credentialed by the National Board for Certified Counselors as both a National Certified Counselor and a Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor. In 2016, she was selected as an Emerging Leader Fellow for the Southern Association for Counselor Education and Supervision in recognition of the potential she has to be a future leader in the field of Counselor Education.

Ms. Pennock has completed more than 15 peer-reviewed scholarly presentations, including presentations at local, state, national, and international conferences. Additionally, she has contributed to both scholarly journal articles and book chapters related to professional development and practice in the field of counselor education. She has been involved in professional service at the state and national levels, serving as part of the planning committee for the Florida Counseling Association’s 2017 Trauma Symposium. She serves as a member of the editorial board for the Journal of Mental Health Counseling (JMHC), the professional journal of the American Mental Health Counselors Association and was selected as a member of the inaugural group of editorial fellows (2017-2018) for Counselor Education & Supervision, the journal of the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision.

For more than a decade, Ms. Pennock served full-time with Pioneers, an interdenominational church-planting mission agency.  She spent six years serving in Eastern Europe, before working in the area of missionary member care at the Pioneers USA headquarters. A graduate of the RTS-Orlando MAC program, Ms. Pennock maintains a private practice in the Orlando area. Outside of work, she enjoys keeping up with her nephews, creating art, and watching UNC Tarheel basketball.
