About Dr. Schwanda

Dr. Tom Schwanda is the Associate Professor of Christian Formation and Ministry at Wheaton College.   He received his Ph.D. from Durham University in 2009, his D.Min. from Fuller Theological Seminary in 1992, and his M.Div. from New Brunswick Theological Seminary in 1975.  His extensive publishing works include Emergence of Evangelical Spirituality: The Age of Edwards, Newton, and Whitefield (The Classics of Western Spirituality, 2016), Gazing on Jesus with Gratitude: The Piety of Isaac Ambrose (2016), Puritanism and Emotion in the Early Modern World (2015), Soul Recreation: the Contemplative-Mystical Piety of Puritanism (2012), and Celebration of God’s Presence: The Transforming Power of Public Worship (1995).
