About Dr. Stefan

Patrick Stefan presently lives in El Paso, TX with his wife and three boys. After completing his MDiv at RTS Washington, D.C. (2011), he went on to complete his Ph.D. at the University of Denver (2018). His dissertation is currently under contract with Fortress Academic and will be published in the Fall of 2019.

During his doctoral coursework, Patrick served as an associate pastor for Salt and Light Reformed Presbyterian Church in Longmont, CO and a reserve Army Chaplain for a Combat Operational Stress Control team (2011-2014). Following this, he served as a lead pastor for Rochester Reformed Presbyterian Church in Rochester, NY and a reserve Army Chaplain for Civil Affairs (2014-2018).

Patrick’s primary research interests are in Pauline theology, Gospels, material origins of Christianity, early Jewish-Christian relations, religion and cultural change, and the Bible and its history of reception.

Since life is much more than academic research, Patrick also enjoys time with his family, backpacking in whatever wilderness is closest to him, restoring his ’68 Bronco, and running.

Patrick and his wife labor diligently in their home, church, and places of occupation to be ambassadors of the transforming grace that God has shown them. They presently attend Las Tierras Community Church (PCA) in El Paso, TX.
