About Dr. Stefan

Patrick Stefan presently lives in El Paso, TX with his wife and three boys. After completing his MDiv at RTS Washington, D.C. (2011), he went on to complete his Ph.D. at the University of Denver (2018). He is the author of The Power of Resurrection (Fortress Academic, 2020).

During his doctoral coursework, Patrick served as an associate pastor for Salt and Light Reformed Presbyterian Church in Longmont, CO and a reserve Army Chaplain for a Combat Operational Stress Control team (2011-2014). Following this, he served as a lead pastor for Rochester Reformed Presbyterian Church in Rochester, NY and a reserve Army Chaplain for Civil Affairs (2014-2018).

Patrick’s primary research interests are in Pauline theology, Gospels, material origins of Christianity, early Jewish-Christian relations, religion and cultural change, and the Bible and its history of reception.

Since life is much more than academic research, Patrick also enjoys time with his family, backpacking in whatever wilderness is closest to him, restoring his ’68 Bronco, and running.

Patrick is an ordained teaching elder in the PCA.
