RTS board member, the Hon. Scott Redd, Sr. will receive the Distinguished Graduate Award from the United States Naval Academy Friday, March 22, in Annapolis, Md. This award comes from his fellow USNA alumni in acknowledgment of an extraordinary career of service to the United States of America.
Redd has given 40 years of his life to public service. As vice admiral, he launched two organizations critical to US national security: The U.S. Navy’s Fifth Fleet in the Middle East and the National Counterterrorism Center in Washington, D.C. He also served on the Commission on U. S. Intelligence Capabilities Regarding Weapons of Mass Destruction. In 2004, he served as deputy administrator and COO of the Coalition Provisional Authority in Baghdad, Iraq. He graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy and after graduation studied in Uruguay as a Fulbright Scholar and as a Burke Scholar, receiving a Master of Science degree in operations analysis from the Naval Postgraduate School. He is the recipient of the National Security Medal and the National Intelligence Distinguished Service Medal-the intelligence community’s highest award. His son, John Scott Redd, Jr., president of RTS/Washington will be in attendance with his family.
