Reformed Theological Seminary is pleased to announce the appointment of Kevin DeYoung as chancellor’s professor of systematic and historical theology as of January 1, 2016. Kevin will teach at RTS while he continues as senior pastor of University Reformed Church in East Lansing Michigan where he has been since 2004. The position of chancellor’s faculty is designed to provide for a professor to teach at multiple RTS campuses benefitting a greater number of students. University Reformed Church recently moved from the Reformed Church in America to the PCA.
Kevin grew up in Jenison, Michigan and earned a B.A. in Religion from Hope College in Holland, Mich., Summa Cum Laude an M.Div. with concentration in Theology from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Massachusetts, Summa Cum Laude. He is currently a PhD Candidate (Early Modern History) at the University of Leicester in the UK.
He has written numerous articles and books, including his most recent What Does the Bible Really Teach about Homosexuality? (Crossway 2015), the 2015 WORLD Book of the Year (Runner Up, in the category Accessible Theology). His popular book, Crazy Busy: A Mercifully Short Book About a Really Big Problem (Crossway 2013), was the 2014 Evangelical Christian Publishers Association Book of the Year. In addition, Christianity Today has awarded three of his other books, Book of the Year in 2013, 2010, and 2009.
Regularly blogging on thegospelcoalition.com, Kevin also has been invited as a key note speaker to numerous conferences and lectures including Together For the Gospel, The Gospel Coalition, The Shepherd’s Conference, and many more. Kevin and his wife, Trisha, have six children.
