Dr. Guy Waters to Teach “The Gospel of John,” Jan. 25-26.

Dr. Guy Waters, James M. Baird, Jr. Professor of New Testament, will be visiting RTS Dallas to teach “The Gospel of John” (11NT721/01). This course emphasizes the portrait of Christ in John’s Gospel. Attention is given to John’s literary art, theological message, and pastoral purpose. It is a one-credit-hour elective course for those students seeking an M.Div. or MATS.

Dr. Waters, who serves as academic dean for RTS Dallas, received his B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania (1995), his M.Div. from Westminster Theological Seminary (1998), and his Ph.D. from Duke University (2002). Prior to coming to RTS Jackson in 2007, he spent one year teaching Hellenistic Greek at Duke Divinity School and five years as Assistant Professor of Biblical Studies at Belhaven College. In 2003, he became a teaching elder in the Mississippi Valley Presbytery (PCA). He served as the Chair of the Credentials Committee for more than ten years. 

This one-credit-hour class will meet from 3PM to 9PM on Friday, January 25 and 8AM to 4PM on Saturday, January 26.
