ANTICIPATED TIME COMMITMENTS:
Doing ministry/preparing for ministry: 10-15 hours/week.
Participating in meetings/training: weekly youth meeting(s); quarterly leadership team meetings; monthly youth events; bi-annual parents’ meeting; quarterly advisory board meetings.
Support the design and implementation of a philosophy of ministry for the youth at Tampa Bay Presbyterian Church that is biblical, Reformed, and covenantal.
Assist in establishing a balanced youth ministry of outreach, worship, fellowship, discipleship, and ministry.
Assist in evaluating periodically the effectiveness of the youth ministry in relation to the church’s mission and vision, suggesting changes as appropriate to the ministry areas of focus.
Assist the Pastor in developing for Session approval of all appropriate policies and procedures for the operation of an effective youth ministry.
Assist in recruiting, training, and coordinating various levels of leadership (including staff, parents, volunteers, and youth) for the youth ministry.
Assist in administering all policies approved by Session for the ministry area.
Assist in providing leadership and training to all levels of leadership in the ministry area.
Assist in evangelizing and discipling youth in personal Christian growth.
Assist in coordinating the use of church facilities for youth activities and meetings with church staff.
Assist in coordinating with Presbytery and General Assembly youth ministries regarding the involvement of our youth in activities, camps and conferences.
Assist in submitting annual budget for Session approval.
Maintain a consistent life of prayer and worship.
Subscribe to the Westminster Standards (make known any differences) and be teachable.
Keep the Pastor fully informed of all ministry involvement and activities.
Attend youth meetings and parent meetings as appropriate.
Assist the Pastor in providing shepherding oversight and pastoral care to our youth.
The position is part-time and compensation is commensurate with experience.
Receive annual evaluation from the Pastor.
A seminary student who is willing to serve our youth and their families.
