Job Description:

Specific Job Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate ability to learn and convey subject matters, while adhering to school protocols and
  • Study and follow lesson plans provided by the absent teacher to create a consistent learning experience for students
  • Manage the classroom effectively to facilitate learning, encourage student participation, minimize distractions and maintain a positive learning environment
  • Provide and assign classwork and homework based on the available lesson plan
  • Supervise students in and out of the classrooms, including halls, playground and lunch, to maintain a safe environment

  • Lift 20 lbs. occasionally and 10 lbs. frequently
  • Sit frequently and stand and walk on varied surfaces
  • Bend, stoop, crouch, push, pull, climb, balance, kneel, crawl
  • Use hands/arms to reach in any direction and seize, grasp, hold, and turn objects using hand(s). Use fingers, versus the whole hand, to pick, pinch, and feel objects.
  • See, talk, and hear to communicate with others in person, electronically, by phone, or by radio. Visual functions include the ability to identify and distinguish colors and bring an object into sharp focus.

  • No formal credentials and experience are necessary but the Substitute Teacher must be able to perform duties to a high standard and have (or have the ability to learn quickly) the knowledge, skills and abilities listed below.
