Sr. Advancement Officer, Texas Region

Job Description:

Do you have a habit of writing unexpected notes of encouragement to members of your church? Is it common for you to pray with a friend or a stranger after they have shared a concern or need? Do you desire to see the gospel outreach of Ligonier Ministries continue to flourish around the world for decades to come? If you answered yes to these questions, you may be the right person to care for some of Ligonier’s most generous and longstanding supporters. The Sr. Advancement Officer plays a key role in ensuring that these friends of the ministry are served well and also kept informed about various ministry updates and giving opportunities through in-person visits, phone calls, and other communication.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced professional who embodies Ligonier’s mission and values and has a passion for sharing them with others. This position will support the Southwest Region of the US. Travel is required.

Position Qualifications:

Responsibilities include:
  • Maintaining and deepening relationships with 100–125 donors in an assigned portfolio
  • Making financial requests for unrestricted needs, special projects, capital campaigns, and other outreach opportunities that arise
  • Submitting weekly activity reports and contact records and regularly updating the CRM database
  • Assisting in surfacing donor prospects for major gifts via research, peer introductions, recommendations, and other relationships through various fundraising efforts
  • Mentoring other team members and regularly sharing current fundraising trends and best practices
Qualifications include:
  • A thorough understanding of Ligonier’s mission and a genuine passion to accomplish it
  • Global knowledge of the ministry’s various outreaches
  • Strong listening, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Major gift solicitation experience or similar background is preferred
  • Commitment to Reformed theology and affirmation of Ligonier Ministries’ Core Statement of Faith
  • Proficiency with technology, including Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems and Microsoft Office
The ideal candidate must be located in Texas.
