Global Registrar and Executive Assistant

Job Description:

The Registrar and Executive Assistant for RTS Global & Distance Education coordinates the registration process for all online programs and courses, maintains accurate student academic records utilizing the Student Information System (SIS), manages transcript requests, contributes to Provost Office projects including regular reporting and data analysis, and handles graduation duties to include degree audits, diplomas, and transcripts.  As the Global Education Registrar, this position serves as a liaison between the student, online faculty, and teaching assistants.  The Registrar assists students with course selection and registration, coordinates course dates and terms, communicates and enforces drop and withdrawal policies, and provides detailed instructions for successfully accessing online courses.  The Registrar and Executive Assistant ensures the accuracy and integrity of all course information, manages the course listing and schedule in SIS, manages student records, answers questions about programs and curriculum, maintains the confidentiality of student information in accordance with FERPA Guidelines, and assists students utilizing GI Bill benefits.  This position also serves as Assistant to the Executive Director and works to track and evaluate program data to include student program enrollment, online course enrollment for residential and non-residential students, total credit hours, and graduation statistics by program as well as a variety of clerical support functions.  The position helps to facilitate an active retention program with other offices/staff in the department.

Position Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, administration, or related field.
  • Two years (2) professional experience in academic administration or related field.
  • Experience with MS Word and Excel.
  • Experience in a higher education environment.
  • Ability to learn new software platforms

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with Customer Relationship Management and Student Information Systems.
  • Working knowledge of accreditation requirements and policies.
  • Working knowledge of degree programs and requirements.
  • Working knowledge of Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational/project management skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism.
  • Ability to work with a team and independently.
