Youth Ministry at CMPC

Some estimates have as many as 70% of students who regularly attended church in high school leaving the church by the time they are 23.  We believe that this is due in large part to the isolation of youth prevalent in many churches, which separates middle and high school students from the larger body of Christ.  Separated and often neglected from the spiritual body, students are ill-equipped to be fed, brought under discipline, and serve in a church after they leave home.  Therefore, the CMPC Student Ministry believes that the goal of youth ministry should be to foster an environment that encourages the development of active church membership. This is accomplished by focusing on five key areas: Assisting families in the spiritual formation of their youth, encouraging spiritual maturity through integration into the larger church body, equipping students through Biblical teaching in God-centered community, demonstrating an active faith that serves Chestnut Mountain and beyond, and outreach to non-Christian families.
