Communications Assistant

Job Description:

The Communications Assistant will provide support to the Communications team and will work closely to assist the Communications Resources Director with daily administrative needs. This position is part-time. Hours are variable but are estimated to be 25-30 hours per week. On-location presence is preferred (Jackson, MS) but not required (open to virtual assistance).

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Assist in administrative tasks such as scheduling meetings, responding to emails, and taking meeting notes as needed
  • File documents and information electronically
  • Oversee and maintain database accuracy and automations for RTS staff/faculty and constituents via department platforms, specifically Active Campaign (mass email marketing platform)
  • Track and follow up on action items and project deliverables and deadlines utilizing department project management software (Hive)
  • Research and help to find solutions/answers to questions presented to the department
  • Assist with updates related to content on the seminary website, rts.edu, campus sub-brand sites and the seminary‚Äôs e-commerce shop, mindandheart.com
  • Assist in proofreading content as requested
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned

  • Eagerness to make time for ongoing education and learn new skills

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Knowledge of Reformed theology and higher education or non-profit institutions
  • Knowledge of digital, social, video content across target platforms (Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, WordPress, ActiveCampaign, etc.) and/or eagerness to learn new applications and platforms
