Job Description:

Specific Responsibilities

Teachers and Staff:

  • Volunteer Management
  • Coordinate volunteer schedules and rosters on CCB
    • Goal is to meet best practice quotas for adult/child ratios in classrooms
  • Assist with teacher assimilation and training
  • Communicate operational changes or general updates to teachers
  • Curriculum planning and management
    • Work with CM Director on creating crafts and activities to support main theme
    • Organize, print out and file curriculum and resources
  • Children’s Ministry Sitter Tree Management
    • Manage Sitter Tree scheduling and payments

Volunteer Management

  • Manage, recruit and evaluate volunteer safety applications
  • Manage volunteer and staff background checks
  • Update database in CCB and AW files
  • Manage Ministry Safe portal for Sexual Abuse Awareness and Prevention Training
    • Coordinate and communicate minimum of 5 special events a year
      • Christmas, Easter, VBS, Fall and Spring Festivals, etc.

Operations:

  • Coordinate with CM Director & Sunday Operations Coordinator to ensure Sundays runs smoothly and efficiently.
    • Volunteers show up
    • Supplies are available
    • No long lines at drop off/pick-up
  • Communicate with Director of Children’s Ministry regarding major operational changes.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment in the CM’s space
  • Organize supplies and storage areas.

Event Planning:

Coordinate and communicate minimum of 5 special events a year

  • Christmas, Easter, VBS, Fall and Spring Festivals, etc.

Administrative:

  • Mange supply needs for Sunday services and special events
  • Send out weekly lesson update emails to parents.
  • Assist the Director of Children’s Ministry with responding to emails/updates/to do list/sending out emails to teachers and parents/planning crafts
  • Record weekly Children’s Ministry metrics

Schedule and Work Days:

  • Work 2 full days in office (14 hours)
  • Expected to work one service on Sunday and available as support if needed
  • Coordinate with CM Director and CM Sunday Operations Coordinator on dates to attend main service/vacation days/etc.
  • Track hours on time-sheet and turn in weekly to CM Director
  • Meet once a week with CM Director for status update meeting
  • Meet once a month with Chief Operator

Position Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children in church or school setting
  • Strong organizational skills. Efficient in Excel and Word
  • Commitment to help foster a positive team culture among fellow staff members and volunteers
  • Personal characteristics consistent with Christian maturity
