Associate Director

Job Description:

The Associate Director will work closely with the Executive Director to manage operations, organize speaking events and contribute to student programming.

This full-time position pays $42,000-$50,000 a year, commensurate with experience, +$10,000-$12,000 a year in benefits.  Please send a letter of interest, CV, and two references to Chris Daniel, Executive Director, at cdaniel@richmondstudycenter.org by June 1, 2023.  The position will remain open until filled.  Position is local (must live in or be willing to move to Richmond, VA), and the start date is negotiable.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing all day-to-day operations, including running payroll, generating reports as needed, communicating with accountant, maintaining supplies, paying bills, updating website and social media accounts, processing periodic newsletters and end-of-year donor acknowledgement letters, etc.
  • Organizing speaking events, including scheduling, coordinating with invited speakers, communicating with caterer, gathering volunteers to help with events as needed, acquiring all needed equipment and supplies, recording and processing presentations, etc.
  • Contributing to student programming, including leading a student discussion group each semester, assisting with periodic dinner discussions and/or movie discussion nights, engaging in student one-on-ones, etc.

Other responsibilities will depend upon the strengths and interests of the Associate Director in close collaboration with the Executive Director.
