Algebra I Teacher
This 9th-grade course in Algebra I meets for 1 hour each M/W/F from 9:15 a.m. – 10:15 a.m. Students are taught from an Algebra I textbook (see syllabus link below) and are assigned homework to be done in-between each class meeting. Teacher is expected to collect and grade homework regularly, administer and grade quizzes and tests, respond to student/parent inquiries, and complete quarterly grade reports. On average, teachers will spend 3 hours per week teaching and 6 hours per week preparing/grading/communicating. Position pays $6,000 per school year, which runs for 32 weeks, from late August through mid-May.

Applicants need not have formal teaching certification or classical education training. Rather, qualified applicants will exhibit demonstrated excellence in teaching, a thorough knowledge of Algebra and passion for the subject, a clear Christian commitment and walk with the Lord, and a dedication to caring for students (with a verifiable track record of such).

Greyfriars Classical Academy provides an affordable classical education in a strong Christian environment for high school grades 9 -12. We also offer a Homeschool Tutorial Program for grades K - 8. High school students can enroll full time or take individual classes. High school classes meet M/W/F; students work at home T/Th. Because all of our teaching positions are part-time opportunities, multiple RTS-Charlotte students have taught classes for us over the years.Contact Via Email
