Accounts Payable Specialist/Financial Analyst
This is an attractive opportunity to work for a growing, not-for-profit organization that will expose the person to a diversified range of financial functions. This person should believe in the mission of Reformed Theological Seminary (RTS), which is ultimately to serve the church by preparing its future leaders and influencers.
The primary role of this position will be the management of the organization’s Accounts Payable functions. This will involve working with geographically dispersed campuses to enter invoices into the financial software and issue check/EFT payments. Vendor records will need to be created and maintained within the financial software. At the end of each calendar year 1099 forms will need to be created and issued. Communication skills will be critical in communicating with campus personnel who manage their local campus budget.
The ideal candidate will have an eye towards automating many of the accounts payable processes that are currently being handled manually. The Seminary desires revamp the accounts payables functions focused on a more efficient future. As automation increases around standard accounts payables functions the role will transform to include assisting the Finance Department in analysis, reporting, and other finance functions that are beyond the typical accounts payable role.
• B.S. degree in Accounting or related field preferred
• Two years of experience in Accounting/Finance or related field
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Interest in using technology/software to simplify and advance business functions
• Self-Starter who is comfortable in managing projects to completion
