Reformed Theological Seminary is pleased to announce the promotion of four new chief officers: Matthew Bryant, Mike Copening, Phillip Holmes, and David Veldkamp. Together with the Chancellor, Chief of Staff, and Chief Financial Officer, they will join the Chancellor’s Cabinet.

Chief Officers
Matthew Bryant previously served as Senior Vice President of Development and will now serve as Chief Development Officer. Prior to joining RTS in 2017, Bryant served for 14 years on staff at Covenant College, working in a variety of roles related to admissions, church relations, communications, and financial aid. Upon his departure from Covenant, he was serving as interim Vice President of Admissions. He then served two years as Vice President of Advancement at Chattanooga Christian School, overseeing development, communications, and admissions.
Mike Copening became Director Institutional Technology at RTS in February 2010 and will now serve as Chief Technology Officer. He provides management and oversight to all institutional technology systems and platforms, in addition to programming on various software platforms. Copening graduated summa cum laude from the University of Central Florida with a BSBA in Management Information Systems in 2007.
Phillip Holmes joined RTS in 2017 to work in communications, was promoted to vice president in January 2019, and will now serve as Chief Communications Officer. Prior to working at RTS, he helped launch and co-found the Reformed African American Network (RAAN). In 2015, he worked for Desiring God as a writer and content strategist. Holmes joined Rivertree Financial Planning in August 2016, handling all of Rivertree’s marketing and communication efforts. At, RTS, he oversees branding, website, print publications, marketing, and social media.
David Veldkamp will serve as Chief Enrollment Officer in addition to his role as Director of Institutional Assessment. Veldkamp graduated from RTS with his MDiv in 2017 and became Vice President of Enrollment in January 2019, overseeing recruitment, financial aid, and retention efforts for all campuses. Previously, he worked for the Orlando campus as Vice President of Administration and, before that, as Director of Admissions.
