Thank you for being a faithful financial supporter of Reformed Theological Seminary. We want to share some important news with you.
Blackbaud, one of the largest providers of financial and fundraising technology to nonprofits, informed us that they experienced an information security breach on May 20, 2020. RTS uses Blackbaud software and services for certain accounting and fundraising functions, including cloud storage of donor records. As part of the breach, a file containing your personal information was accessed. Blackbaud has informed us that no credit card information, no bank account information, and no Social Security numbers were stolen, nor does RTS record and maintain any such information about our constituents in these platforms.
Blackbaud has exercised several measures to protect your data, and we have no reason to believe that any data was or will be made available publicly. As a precautionary measure, Blackbaud has hired outside experts to monitor the web and they have found no evidence that any information was released.
As this breach involved data associated with our employee, donor, and alumni records, we have been and continue to actively investigate this event. In addition to giving history, other information we keep on our donors includes name and contact information, and in some cases, date of birth. At this time, we have no indication that your data was misused or disseminated publicly. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. We deeply value your partnership and appreciate your support of RTS. If you have any questions, please feel free to call our Development team at 601-923-1600. Additional information is also available at https://www.blackbaud.com/securityincident.
