Director of Women’s Ministry

Job Description:

Purpose

To lead Redeemer women to know God more intimately through the study of scripture, fellowship with each other, and service in the various ministries of the church.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, shepherd, and lead Women’s Ministry Leadership Team
    • To plan and facilitate studies, events, and retreats that align with Redeemer’s mission and vision
    • To know and love Redeemer women and help them to connect, serve, and lead within the church based on their interests and spiritual giftings
    • To find and communicate opportunities for training for Redeemer women
    • Oversee and direct the team’s structure, function, and meetings
  • Serve on the Committee of Discipleship Ministries
  • Interact with other church committees and ministries to support and promote organizational health and communication
  • Meet regularly with female leaders in discipleship ministries (especially WBS, GG, RYA) and other women in the congregation
  • Lead, represent, and advocate for women and Women’s Ministry
  • Serve as liaison to connect women to appropriate ministries in the life of the church
  • Teach in various settings
  • Attend staff meetings, Session meetings
  • Reading/Learning/Study/Growth
  • Reports to Assistant Pastor of Shepherding & Discipleship

  • Embraces a robust & gracious Complementarian practice for the peace, purity, unity, and progress of the church
  • Embraces the ways women serve in the life of Redeemer and our adult teacher policy
  • Understands and navigates a multiethnic context
  • Deploys biblical wisdom, counseling skills, emotional intelligence, and boundaries
  • Relates with integrity, honesty, and empathy
  • Skilled in building relational equity, team player, encourager
  • Adept in relating to women of various backgrounds (age, stage, ethnicity)
  • Eager to shepherd, disciple, and train other women, especially leaders
  • Diligent to strategize, plan, and follow through
  • Able to teach, excellent communication skills
  • Able to handle and resolve conflict, strong pastoral and problem-solving skills
  • Able to hold confidential information and handle sensitive issues with discretion
  • Is a proactive self-starter
