Orlando is a fun and exciting place to live. RTS Orlando is located in Oviedo, a northeast suburb of Orlando. Oviedo is quieter than downtown Orlando, yet close enough to enjoy all that Orlando has to offer. As you plan your move, you may find the following information helpful. Of course, we encourage you to explore the town and make it your own.
The Best Parts of Living in Orlando
If you were to take an informal poll of people at RTS and ask them what they enjoy most about living in Orlando, you might hear the following:
• Thriving churches
• Beautiful weather
• Close to beaches
• Theme parks and amusement parks near by (this is the kids’ favorite by far!)
• Para-church ministry central
• Year-round farmer’s markets
In particular, many people in the RTS community enjoy Winter Park for its picturesque downtown and cultural events (read: things that can be enjoyed for free!). There’s also free movies in the park. If you need to grab a bite to eat between classes, you’ll likely see some fellow students at Tijuana Flats just around the corner (especially on Taco Tuesdays). You’ll also find us at TJ’s Seafood Shack, Barnie’s Coffee Shop and Bernie’s Deli. On the weekends, families can find free (or nearly free) fun at Downtown Disney, DeLeon Springs State Park, Uptown Altamonte or just hanging out at the pool. Seaworld, Aquatica, Wet’n’Wild, Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon often offer special deals for Florida residents such as free year-round admission with the purchase of 1 full price ticket (buy a ticket for 1 day, get in the rest of the year free). We hope you experience that Orlando is a great place to live and explore.
