Spring Offering: Ferguson on the Westminster Standards

RTS Dallas is excited to announce that Dr. Sinclair Ferguson will be joining us March 1-6, 2018 to teach the Theology of the Westminster Standards (11ST624). This course would be of special interest not only to seminary students, but also to local pastors, elders, and church leaders.

In this historical and theological survey of the Westminster Assembly and its work, the major documents produced by the Assembly are studied in detail, with attention also given to the historical, political, and theological context of the Assembly. Such issues as the Westminster doctrine of Scripture, the Confession’s relation to the theology of Calvin, and the debate over church government may be discussed.

Sinclair B Ferguson (Ph.D., University of Aberdeen) serves as RTS Chancellor’s Professor of Systematic Theology. Dr. Ferguson has pastured churches in Scotland and the United States, and has taught at Westminster Theological Seminary, in Philadelphia and Dallas, and at Redeemer Seminary for many years. He is currently the honorary evening preacher in St Peter's Free Church of Scotland, Dundee. Among his many publications, he has recently authored Some Pastors and Teachers (Banner of Truth). He and his wife Dorothy have been blessed with three sons and a daughter and eleven grandchildren.

This two-semester-hour class will meet from 9am to 3pm each day, Thursday through Saturday, March 1-3, and Monday to Tuesday, March 5-6. The cost to audit a course at RTS is $50 per semester hour, and tuition is $515 per semester hour. To audit the course, please register using the Audit Registration link on our RTS Dallas website.
