Dr. Vincent Bacote serves as Associate Professor of Theology and the Director of the Center for Applied Christian Ethics at Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois. He is the author of The Spirit in Public Theology: Appropriating the Legacy of Abraham Kuyper (2005) and The Political Disciple: A Theology of Public Life (2015).

So mark your calendars now for our Spring chapel series! Our topic for the semester will be "Forgiveness."  We’ll gather on campus on February 23rd, March 15th, and April 12th at 11:30am, with lunch provided by RTS following the service. Please RSVP to Becca Hermes (bhermes@rts.edu) for each date so we know how much lunch to order.

Our speaker for the semester will be RTS Atlanta alumnus Rev. David Charney (MDiv ’11). David is currently the Admissions Coordinator at RTS Atlanta, and he is also pursuing his Doctor of Ministry at RTS. Before coming to RTS Atlanta, he was the Associate Rector at Christ Church of Atlanta, a parish in the Anglican Church of North America. While he was at Christ Church, he directed the Kairos Discipleship Ministry which was an outreach to youth in the Atlanta area. He was also able to serve the Anglican Diocese of the South as their Canon of Student Ministries during that time. He is married to Reagan and has two children, Selene and Colton.

Prayer Vigil - Jackson Campus

Prayer Vigil is 10:30 pm to 12:00 am at the Chapel during the spring semester.
Dr. Elias Medeiros and Jonas Brock will give a short meditation.
The purpose of the vigil is to have a private time in prayer with Jesus Christ.

Caledonian Call Internship Program - Jackson Campus

Caledonian Call Seeks RTS Students to Serve in Scotland.

In cooperation with the Free Church of Scotland, Mission to the World and the Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, the Caledonian Call is introducing a program that will enable RTS students to serve an internship of two years or more in Scotland as MTW missionaries with a Free Church congregation in a pastoral support role.

The official launch will include a luncheon presentation outlining the program on Monday, February 29, 2016 from 12:00-1:00 at Patterson's Porch featuring Reverend Nigel Anderson of the Livingston Free Church of Scotland. RTS students are invited to attend and enjoy a lunch provided by MTW. There will be Q&A with Rev. Anderson during the luncheon, and information on the Caledonian Call internships will be available on request during the event.

In addition, Rev. Jack Beall with MTW Church Resourcing will be available after the luncheon to meet with those who would like to discuss MTW's role in the Caledonian Call short-term missions to Scotland, along with other options for missionary service available with MTW.

The 2016 Spiritual Life Conference featuring Dr. Carl Trueman: Christianity and Its Discontents - Jackson Campus

The Conference will focus on three current cultural impulses toward the destruction of Christianity - the reconfiguring of personhood, the denial of mortality, and western society's tendency toward cultural amnesia.
This conference is free to attend and is open to the public.

Rev. Dr. Carl R. Trueman (PhD, Aberdeen) holds the Paul Woolley Chair of Church History and is professor of church history at Westminster Theological Seminary. He has written more than a dozen books, and is currently co-editing with Bruce Gordon the Oxford Handbook of Calvin and Calvinism due in 2017. Dr. Trueman also writes online regularly at firstthings.com on contemporary issues such as religious freedom, identity politics, and the state of the church.
