New Zondervan Book Series Edited by Swain and Allen to be a Resource for Seminary Students, Pastors and Other Christian Leaders

New Studies in Dogmatics, a major new 15-volume series, commissioned by Zondervan Academic and edited by Dr. Scott Swain of RTS and Michael Allen of KTS, promises to provide essential resources for seminary systematic theology courses or advanced college-level systematic theology electives. Pastors and other ministry leaders who continually seek to deepen their theological understanding will also be drawn to the series.

The collection will explore vital theological topics of Christian doctrine, expressing their biblical, creedal, and confessional shape. Authors will reexamine church doctrine by beginning with the foundations laid in the creeds, councils, and confessions and expounded by its most trusted teachers (such as the early church fathers, medieval doctors, and Protestant Reformers).

The series is also served by an advisory board comprised of John B. Webster (University of Aberdeen), Kevin J. Vanhoozer (Trinity Evangelical Divinity School), Katherine Sonderegger (Virginia Theological Seminary), and Henri Blocher (Faculté Libre de Théologie Évangélique).

Series co-editor Swain comments, “Karl Barth once described theology as ‘a peculiarly beautiful discipline.’ We couldn't agree more; and we are thrilled about the stellar cast of contributors lined up to exhibit the splendors of God and the gospel through Zondervan's New Studies in Dogmatics series.”

The first releases are expected to come out in 2016.
