Jackson Biblical Theology Conference with Stephen Dempster "Progresses"

(JACKSON, MS) March 25, 2011 - Ready to see the beauty of the Scriptures, from Alpha to Omega (and Aleph to Tau)?  A long time in planning, and after much student anticipation, the first RTS Biblical Theology Conference begins on Tuesday, March 29 at 10:00am in Grace Chapel.

Stephen Dempster, author of Dominion & Dynasty: A Biblical Theology of the Hebrew Bible and the Stuart E. Murray Associate Professor of Religious Studies at Crandall University (New Brunswick, Canada), will be preaching three sessions, as follows:

Tuesday, March 29
10:00am-11:00am: "Biblical Theology as Cartography: Making a Map of the Biblical World."

7:00pm-8:00pm: "Theology and Geography at Sinai: God Reveals His Name."  *This session will have childcare!

Wednesday, March 30
10:00am-11:00am: "Theology and Geography at Jerusalem: God Reveals his Heart."

Not only the author of Dominion, Dempster has also contributed to a book used in classes here at RTS Jackson, New Dictionary of Biblical Theology.  Both books are available in the RTS Jackson bookstore.  This week only (3/28-4/1), the bookstore will sell Dominion at 40% the regular price.

This event grows out of our commitment to Christ-centered learning and ministry rooted in Scripture and is intended to enable all of us to bring clarity to our understanding of how the entire Bible focuses on God's saving work in Jesus.  Don't miss such a unique opportunity in our own backyard!
