RTS Jackson Holds Forty-Sixth Commencement

On Saturday, May 18, 2013, at 10:00am, Reformed Theological Seminary's forty-sixth Commencement was held at First Presbyterian Church, Jackson.  Dr. Sean Lucas, Senior Pastor of First Presbyterian Church, Hattiesburg and Guest Lecturer at RTS Jackson, gave the Commencement Address entitled Measuring God's Glory from Romans 11:33-36.  Dr. Miles Van Pelt, Academic Dean, presented fifty-five graduates, Dr. Guy Richardson, President, conferred the degrees, and Richard Ridgway, Chairman of the Board, awarded the degrees.

There were twenty-four graduates from the Master of Divinity Program, nineteen graduates from the Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy & Counseling Program, five Doctor of Ministry graduates, five Master of Arts graduates, one Master of Theology graduate, and one Certificate graduate.

The MDIV graduates commenced to a variety of different callings, including pastoral ministry as solo pastors, assistant pastors,  youth pastors, and church planters, RUF campus ministry, and missions. Two graduates are pursuing missions work in China.  Three graduates are enrolling in PhD programs this fall at the University of Edinburgh, Westminster Theological Seminary, and Calvin Theological Seminary.  The MFTC graduates are entering private practice, the ministry of counseling in the church, and community mental health.  One graduate got married later in the afternoon.
