RTS Jackson welcomed Nate Shurden and Harry Reeder to Grace Chapel and Patterson's Porch to encourage and challenge students in this year's Spiritual Life Conference, February 27-28. Both RTS graduates, Reeder and Shurden spoke about "Leading from the Heart," sharing their experience of life in ministry. Pastor Nate Shurden is a graduate of Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, MS. Upon graduation, Nate was called to be Minister of Discipleship and Young Adults at FPC Jackson where he served for three years. In 2010, Nate accepted a new call to Franklin, TN to help plant Cornerstone Presbyterian Church. Nate is married to Christy, and they have three young children.
Dr. Harry Reeder serves as senior pastor of Briarwood Presbyterian Church, birthplace of the PCA denomination. Pastor Reeder is particularly passionate about addressing issues of Theology, Christian Manhood, Leadership and Church Vitality. Reeder is a graduate of Covenant College, with a degree in history and Bible. He holds a Master of Divinity degree from Westminster Theological Seminary and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Reformed Theological Seminary. He and his wife, Cindy, live in Birmingham, Alabama. They have three children and six grandchildren.
