Message From The Executive Director And Lecturer In Practical Theology
July 17, 2018 - Greetings in the name of our Lord. The Apostle Paul tells us, “Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not vain” (1 Cor 15:58).
As you live life in this fallen world for the glory of God – as you labor as husbands, fathers, wives, mothers, sons, and daughters – at work and at home – the Lord in this verse calls us to press on. He calls us to be steadfast and immovable, not shifting with the changing winds of the culture. Rather he calls us to press on in love and good works. Moreover, this passage is an encouragement to press on in your seminary studies. The ‘good work’ of studying the Word of God and of being equipped as a servant-leader in Christ’s church is not in vain. So dear friend, press on this day and this week in the grace of our risen and exalted King Jesus.
This is the first of what I hope to me monthly emails encouragements and reminders to the RTS Houston student body. May we all be in prayer that the Lord of the harvest would continue his great work at RTS Houston and beyond.
In Christ’s grace,
Rev. Robert Arendale
