When to Apply

The Master of Divinity, MA (Biblical Studies), MA (Theological Studies), and Master of Arts in Christian Counseling (MACC) programs have a rolling admissions process, and students may apply at any time to enter one of four terms:

  • Summer (June)
  • Fall (Late August)
  • Winter (January)
  • Spring (February)

Steps to Apply

Prospective students may choose to complete the application online or mail a completed copy of the paper application packet to the RTS Charlotte admissions office. Instructions for each component of the application can be found on the online or printed application form.

Once the admissions office has received your completed application, it will be reviewed by the admissions committee. The review process usually takes 1-2 weeks.

 

International Students

All international students must establish English language proficiency. All applicants whose first language is not English must demonstrate English proficiency by taking the “Test of English as a Foreign Language” (TOEFL). Though there are three different forms of the TOEFL exam, Internet-based (iBT) TOEFL exam results are the only form accepted by Reformed Theological Seminary. To be considered for full admittance to the MDiv, MA, MABS, MATS, MAR, applicants must have a minimum score of 84 with scores no lower than 21 on each of the four components (reading, listening, speaking, and writing). To be considered for full admittance to the DMin, MAC, and MAMFT, applicants must have a minimum score of 100 with scores no lower than 25 on each of the four components (reading, listening, speaking, and writing).

The institutional code for Reformed Theological Seminary is 1646. If you put this number in the appropriate place on the test registration form, your score report will be mailed to us.

Accepted Students

Congratulations on being admitted to RTS Charlotte! In order to finalize your enrollment and become an RTS student, the admissions office will be happy to help you complete the following steps:

  1. Pay a $200 enrollment deposit (this is credited toward your first RTS class)
  2. Complete the Financial Aid Application.
  3. Register for classes using Self-Service.
