Mrs. Rachel Blackston has taught the core counseling course Career and Lifestyle Development at RTS-Orlando since 2007. Mrs. Blackston is a graduate of the campus's M.A. in Counseling program and has taught counseling courses at James Madison University and the University of Central Florida.

Mrs. Blackston is a licensed mental health counselor with an active private counseling practice based at University Presbyterian Church. She works extensively with women facing depression, anxiety, sexual abuse recovery, codependency, infertility and gender identity issues. Mrs. Blackston specializes in helping women who have been sexually betrayed by their husbands and serves as a therapist at the Women in the Battle weekend hosted by New Life Ministries.

Mrs. Blackston is a qualified supervisor for those seeking licensure as mental health counselors in Florida. She also enjoys speaking in the community on topics such as femininity, personality type, career development and other counseling-related issues. 

When she’s not counseling, Mrs. Blackston enjoys spending time with her husband, Michael, and their young daughter, a priceless gift after years of infertility struggles. Mrs. Blackston is also a competitive board game player and loves bargain shopping.
