Dr. Oliver is the Robert Strong Chair of Homiletics and Practical Theology. Prior to joining the RTS faculty in 1999, he served as the pastor of First Presbyterian Church in Augusta, GA, for 29 years. Dr. Oliver also served as pastor of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Montgomery, AL, and assistant pastor of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Chicago, IL.
Dr. Oliver is a frequent conference speaker both in the states and abroad, particularly in Africa and Asia. He has served on the boards of Columbia International University (Chairman), Westminster Schools of Augusta, Mission to the World, and Bailey Manor Christian retirement Center in South Carolina.
