Dr. Guy L. Richardson is President of the Jackson campus of Reformed Theological seminary in Jackson, Mississippi.
His undergraduate degree in Business Administration (Auburn University, 1972) prepared him for work in the family construction business. He later returned to school and earned three additional graduate degrees – a Masters of Christian Education degree from Reformed Theological Seminary, a Masters of Education degree from Georgia State University, and his doctorate from Auburn University in Marriage and Family Counseling. In 1987 he was ordained as a minister in the Presbyterian Church in America.
Dr. Richardson is also a licensed professional counselor. For twelve years he directed two church-based Christian counseling centers: the first in Augusta, Georgia; and the second, in Montgomery, Alabama. In 1996 he and his family moved to Newark, Delaware where, for three years, he was the interim pastor for Evangelical Presbyterian Church. After completing that work, he moved to Mississippi in 1999 to assume leadership for the first campus of Reformed Theological Seminary. Even though his work for the seminary is demanding, he still makes time to serve as interim pastor of local churches.
He is married to the former Denise White of Birmingham, Alabama. They have two, daughters-- Katie, who is in her residency as a doctor/surgeon at the UMC Medical Center in Jackson and Joy, who serves as a nurse at the Mayo Clinic.
His hobbies include collecting old books and maps and fine cabinetry woodworking.
