National Day of Prayer prayer time on May 2 in RTSO Chapel at 12:15p
April 25, 2013
Please join us and the RTS Ambassadors on Thursday, May 2 at 12:15p
in the Chapel for a time of prayer for our nation.
WILL YOU COMMIT TO PRAY?
IT BEGINS WITH YOU!
As we pray for the United States, we are reminded by the very symbols of this great nation, to Whom we truly owe our allegiance. Our pledge reminds us that we are "one nation under God" and the currency in our pocket sates emphatically that it is "in God we trust." This is the God who desires to personally engage with each one of us!
"He who forms the mountains, creates the wind, and reveals His thoughts to man, He who turns dawn to darkness, and treads the high places of the earth - the LORD God Almighty is His name." - Amos 4:13
In that hope, we are challenging every believer, in every state, with this question - "Will you pray for America?" Will you purpose to engage in focused, intentional prayer on behalf of our country and our leaders? The definition of engage is to occupy a person's attention and efforts in a particular activity. This means having our minds, hearts, and actions fully committed in our communication with God.
"That is why we labor and strive, because we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all people, and especially of those who believe." - 1 Timothy 4:10
As we pray for our leaders with humility, our hearts are softened, and we realize that they need God's grace just as we do. As we pray for our nation with hope, we are encouraged knowing that it is ultimately in the hands of our Father - God Almighty is His name! Based on Ephesians 4, the Pray for America Challenge is designed to ENGAGE, EQUIP, and ENCOURAGE people to seek and ENCOUNTER the Lord through prayer for our nation.
