A Special Announcement from Reformed Theological Seminary
We have just received word that The Board of Commissioners of the Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada, at their February 2013 meeting, voted to reaffirm accreditation for Reformed Theological Seminary following its 10-year accreditation evaluation.
"Accreditation is conducted by the Board of Commissioners on behalf of the Commission on Accrediting of The Association of Theological Schools," according to the ATS Web site. "Accreditation is a practice of peer review and accountability to mutually agreed-upon standards of quality. It affords the public the assurance of a standard of educational and institutional quality and provides schools with a process for continual improvement."
ATS also explains on their site that the "comprehensive accrediting reviews, at least every ten years, examine a school’s institutional and educational practices in light of the Commission’s Standards of Accreditation. Based on accreditation committees’ visits to the schools and subsequent reports, the Commission on Accrediting accredits institutions and approves the degree programs they offer."
RTS was first accredited in 1977. See the listing for RTS on the ATS Web site here.
