SIBL to Offer Greek, Hebrew, Aramaic, and Latin in Summer 2012
September 16, 2011
RTS Jackson is pleased to announce that the Summer Institute of Biblical Languages, which got of to a great start in Summer 2011, will expand its offerings in Summer 2012. In addition to our regular annual offerings of Greek and Hebrew, SIBL will also offer Aramaic and Latin in our eight-week immersion environment in Summer 2012.
Dr. Guy Waters, Associate Professor of New Testament, will offer Latin (which is frequently required for advanced theological study), and Dr. Miles Van Pelt, Alan Belcher Professor of Old Testament and Biblical Languages, and Academic Dean, will offer Aramaic. Dr. Van Pelt’s Aramaic grammar, Basics of Biblical Aramaic, was released by Zondervan last summer as a companion volume to his widely used Basics of Biblical Hebrew, also published by Zondervan.
In the Summer 2012 term, SIBL will run for eight weeks from June 25 to August 17. Special Students, Visiting Students, and Auditors are welcome. As always, RTS Alumni may audit our classes at no charge.
If you are interested in taking these courses for credit, please contact the Admissions office at firstname.lastname@example.org about the application process.
